Sad World

I. (History – creation phase)

This song is a story by itself. I’ve noticed the world is not a better place around my 15. I’ve created the first version of this song partially in Screamtracker and partially in Fasttracker (MOD files) with a Gravis Ultrasound (those were the MAX!); afterwards completed it on a MC-909 which was considerably easier to use instead of those trackers; the MC-909 was also a supermachine.

II. (History – completion phase)

About 12 years later; the song was redone on an MC-808; almost the same style and even better. Probably experience of using those machines has a lot to do with that. This song got released as “instrumental edition” in 2008 on the album SoulXploder.

The lyrics were finished in 2003 but redone in 2005 and 2007. The text had to be shortened hugely; back then I didn’t had that much experience with chantable songs either. To my opinion; this song is timeless and has sure already reaped its seeds in dedication and education during the years.

III. (History – closing the past)

Back then I started playing with samplers (Akai S2000-S3000XL, …) putting paperweights in pure jealousy but beasts of machines; I have been saving and migrating this song to different machines during my life and has survived as one of the few during moving. This song was the reason of the creation of SoulXploder; which were all my ideas from the past created in the future.

IV. (History – embracing the future)

After SoulXploder, i have started to get all working rack-equipment out of the closet to take an entire new approach; based on the years of DJ experience which has modelled the musical brain towards a versatility in styles and understanding of techniques and structures of a true club hit.

In the meantime I was learning to do professional productions, synchronisation audio/video, granular synthesis, audio engineering and lots more which has partially embraced the future with quality productions. These albums were called “SerieXL”, because I believe it’s better to have a longer edition to be shortened instead of a short version getting rendered into repetition. New techniques, approaches and styles have been taken into consideration and got stuck for a while now in a glitched/IDM mode ; probably because I’m a programmer in profession.

That’s all history about this song; which is also a big piece of history in my musical past, while observing and feeling the world.
